THE FULL CIRCLE MUSIC APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
The 12 Month Experience In Nashville, TN
Join Our Team For A Year
Join the staff of one of the most professional & modern music companies in Nashville. We regularly work with some of the top players in the industry, and you’ll get to be a part of it.
Get Paid While You Train
Unlike most music industry internships (with no pay) or college programs (where you pay them), we pay YOU to train with us and gain significant real-world experience in the industry.Â
Launch Your Career
Our goal is to develop your job-specific skills and professional abilities to an exceptionally high level so that hiring you would be an easy decision for many top music companies.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for anyone who is serious about their dream to have a professional career in the music industry and willing to put in an exceptional amount of effort to make it happen.
We are looking for individuals who are prepared to do the work to stand out from the crowd. Candidates will need to be passionate, ambitious, and excited by the challenges of becoming a leader in the music industry.
We want people who have a constant servant attitude and who are excited to be mentored and challenged by our team because they care more about personal growth than affirmation.
If you meet the above characteristics, then we would encourage you to apply!
If this apprenticeship sounds a little too intense, that’s because it is. And if that’s not for you, it’s no problem! We only want you to commit to this if you’re excited to thrive in this kind of environment.Â
THE EDUCATION
With our apprenticeship program, you get the best of both worlds… learning AND application. At most jobs, you learn just barely enough to succeed in that specific role, and with most training programs, you learn a lot, but you don’t get to put very much of what you learn into tangible action.
Our program is different.
In many respects, we created this program to be an alternative to a masters degree. Given this intention, there is a significant self-learning aspect to the apprenticeship.
We will provide books, courses, and other materials (literally thousands of dollars worth of training materials) that you will be expected to go through on your own time (outside of the office).
This is all very real-world, professional material that is not taught in schools.
This intense curriculum requirement is the reason why our apprenticeship program works. It is also the reason why this apprenticeship requires a lot of self-motivation and is not for the faint of heart.
Our intention is that you develop a lifelong habit of self-learning after this apprenticeship is over.

FAQs
How Do I Know If The Position Has Been Filled?
If the position has been filled, then you will not be able to access the application, and there should be a note at the top of the page that explains that we are not looking for anyone right now.
However, if you don’t see a note like that at the top of the page, and if you are able to access the application, then that means that we are actively looking for new apprentices right now. So please feel free to apply.Â
When Will The Apprenticeship Begin?
Normally we’re pretty flexible regarding start dates.
Most of the time, after we have reviewed candidates and selected the ones that we will send an official job offer letter, the apprentice begins 2 to 3 months after they have been selected.Â
How Does This Differ From An Internship?
At Full Circle Music, we also have an internship program. Our internship program is NOT specialized (meaning, they get exposure to various activities in the company instead of specializing in a specific area).
Internships are generally done over the course of a semester, which is never enough time to train and teach people on important tasks and concepts. While interns do learn a lot about the industry, we aren’t able to teach them professional skills that simply take more hours and work to master than what they have time for.
As an apprentice, you will specialize in a certain area of the company, you will have regular career & development coaching, you will learn industry skills at a professional level, and you will have customized education, specifically designed to sharpen your resume.
Additionally, in most respects, you will be treated as an equal team member and enjoy many of the perks of being on the FCM team, which interns do not get to participate in.
What Kind Of Experience Will I Gain?
Many of the different things you will learn are mentioned above. However, as our company moves throughout different seasons, we will always be working on different projects, and you may have the opportunity to participate in an area of our company that is not mentioned above.
While there are definitely things that will need to be taken care of on a day-to-day basis for our operations to run smoothly, we like to offer projects to apprentices that align with what they are most interested in.
For instance, in a marketing apprenticeship, if you are most interested in web design, then we will specifically make sure that you get to work on website projects, and we will also make sure that you have curriculum in that specific area.Â
What Will A Typical Week Look Like?
You will work 3 days each week from 8am to 5pm.
We have 3 goals with this apprenticeship:
- Education
- Practical Experience
- Industry Networking
Every week, you will have educational assignments, and you will regularly check in with your apprenticeship advisor to make sure you are progressing on these educational assignments. These assignments may include things like researching a topic (through a book, podcast, or video), learning a new software tool, taking an online course, etc. You can expect to turn in short reports on these educational assignments.
This curriculum is designed to be completed outside of the office on your own time. We are going to push you very hard to become a professional in the field as fast as possible, so please understand that there may be many educational requirements that we assign outside of the office time.
While at the office from 8-5 3 days per week, you will be taking your knowledge and education and putting it into practice through practical experience. In the beginning, we will assign tasks to get you familiar with various aspects of the company and tools that we use. Later on, we will put you in charge of your own projects to take the lead on.
A day at the office may also include internal team meetings, meetings with other industry pros, creating reports, scheduling appointments, planning events, and research/education projects that both you and your advisor work through together.
How Competitive Is This Program?
Extremely. The last time we opened up applications, we had 65 applicants and we were only able to choose 3. If you apply, please understand that there may be many other qualified individuals who are seeking this position too.Â
What Can I Expect Regarding Compensation?
Unlike most educational programs where YOU have to pay in order to learn, with this program, the opposite is true!
As an apprentice, the rate starts at approx. $8/hr. (Approx. $832/mo.)
This is payment for your work at the office and it does not factor in the time that you spend on your own to work through curriculum requirements.
In addition to the $8/hr starting pay, you have additional opportunities for extra compensation through hitting monthly goals and through our affiliate program.
We understand that expenses can add up quickly in Nashville. This payment is not at all meant for you to thrive financially. This payment is meant to help you survive financially for one year while we train you to move on to something much more significant after the apprenticeship program is over.
Additionally, this is designed as a 3 day per week commitment. That means, you have an additional 4 days each week to get another part time job(s) in order to help with expenses.
(Keep in mind, if you get another part time job, you need to make sure you leave enough time open for curriculum, approx 25-30 hours per month.)
Why Is This A Year-Long Program?
For many industries that offer apprenticeships, the apprenticeship period is much longer!
We feel that one year offers ample time to teach and train without keeping you “held back” from a full career for too long, as this industry does change rapidly.
During the course of a year, you will have the opportunity to take some serious ownership of some projects and see them through to completion.
Can I Change My Schedule As We Go Along?
In order for us to plan properly and keep the company running smoothly, it is helpful to keep your schedule as consistent as possible.
Every semester, we bring in interns to work with the company, and we often try to make sure that their schedules work well in line with the apprentice schedules.
That said, if you need to change your schedule each semester along with new interns, that should be fine, so long as it is always a consistent 3 days per week.
Changing your schedule more frequently than that would become a problem.
What Will Be Expected Of Me? How Will Performance Issues Be Addressed?
We work very hard to thoroughly evaluate candidates on the front end, so we are confident that the candidates we choose will be more than capable of completing everything necessary for the program.
We do expect you to:
- Observe & respect office rules
- Serve your manager well
- Maintain a cheerful & excited attitude
- Do what we ask you to do (without needing to be asked multiple times)
- Remain flexible and open to changes
- Never complain
- Be enjoyable to work with
- Keep social conversations out of the office (we have a lot of work we need to focus on)
- Handle stress with grace
- Solve problems on your own
- Be eager to learn
- Keep speed and efficiency a priority
- Take your own initiative to pursue opportunities in the music industry (we will help, but we can never work as hard for your goals as you can)
- Address problems/concerns privately
- Cheer on your coworkers
- Be neat, organized, and clean
- Turn in curriculum requirements by (or before) the deadline
- Only turn in work that you are truly proud of
- Honor our customers and treat them well
- Show care with company equipment
- Protect the value of the name and reputation of Full Circle Music (keeping in mind that you always represent our company whether you are at the office or not)
- Adhere to and enforce policies even if you don’t personally agree with them
- Take your learning seriously and use what we teach you
- Lead interns well and encourage them
- Be early (aka on time) to everything
As everything above is integral to your success with this company, we consider all of these items “performance issues.”
If, at any time during the 12 months, there are issues with any of the above items (or anything similar), your manager will address any concerns with you.
We do hold you at a very high standard, as we are developing leaders in the music industry through this program, and our reputation is transferring through to you.
Therefore, after an issue has been addressed, you will have one month to personally address/fix whatever the concern may be.
If the issue is not adequately addressed within that time frame, the issue will be elevated to the company owner and he may directly track your performance.
If the issue is more serious, or if you fail to address the issue, especially after the company owner gets involved, the company will terminate your involvement in the apprenticeship program.Â
We certainly don’t expect to have serious issues here. As long as you can receive feedback well and act on it, treat your position seriously, have a strong work ethic, and get along well with others, then everything should go smoothly!
Just remember, we will hold you to a much higher standard than “average” employees, because we have high expectatons for your future.
Who Is Not A Good Fit For This Program?
Someone who is any of the following would probably not be a good fit for this program:
- Would rather be an artist, songwriter, producer, etc. vs. someone who works on the business side of the industry
- Tends to always feel “too busy”
- Does not handle stress well
- Values free time and socializing above work ethic and personal career goals
- Can’t make it to appointments on time
- Can’t make it work financially on the compensation we are able to provide
- Doesn’t like to take direction from other people
- Doesn’t hold the same values as our company
- Watches the clock and would rather be anywhere else other than “at work.”
- Doesn’t care much about the music industry
- Is bothered by disorganized creative people (aka most musicians)
- Is totally happy with where they are in life right now
- Would prefer a structured environment where every single thing they do is dictated to them
- Values freedom above all else and doesn’t like being “told what to do” wat work
- Doesn’t like to teach
- Hates reading and/or going through online courses
- Lives for the weekend
If any of the above are true for you, then this program probably is not the best fit for you.Â
Are There Tests Or Other Requirements Throughout The Program?
Every month, you will be required to turn in and review your curriculum assignments.
Additionally, there may be small quizzes, exams, projects, or other requirements to prove your knowledge at your manager’s sole discretion.
There will be two performance review evaluations. One will be 5 months into the program and one will be 10 months into the program.
These performance reviews will involve some sort of assessment to prove your knowledge and justify your progress through the program.
If you are successfully meeting requirements and expectations throughout the program, then these assessments shouldn’t be a major concern; you should be able to pass just fine.
If management is not satisfied with your progress, then you may be asked to extend the apprenticeship program by one month in order to retrain on some key skills before completing another assessment.
If, after a second assessment, management is still not able to approve of your progress, then management may need to present an alternative option at its sole discretion.Â
What Kind Of Job Will This Program Prepare Me For?
For those in the publishing program, you will be prepared for a job with a reputable company in publishing administration or a similar field.
For those in the marketing program, you can expect to be prepared for one of 3 possibilities:
- A digital marketing job in another similar industry while you also work for your own music clients on the side. (This would probably make you the most money and be the least time consuming right away.)
- Your own business as an entrepreneur in the music/marketing industry.
- A position with an agency, record label, management company, artist, etc. in a digital marketing role.
The music industry is volatile and sometimes unpredictable. We have a lot of connections to many of the most reputable professionals in the industry. However, not every company is hiring at the “right times.”
We will prepare you for a job as described above and assist with job placement. Keep in mind, it is very unlikely that you will get you “dream job” or the “ideal situation” upon completion of this program.
Nashville tends to be a 7-10 year town, and while this appprenticeship program will dramatically accelerate your growth, it won’t fulfill all of your career wishes right away.
Our team will work to assist you, but as the program comes to a conclusion, we will follow your lead and your work ethic towards finding a great position with a company. Please do not expect us to work harder than you in order to get a great job.
Your future is ultimately yours to chase after, and we are here to help.
What About Holidays And Vacation?
As a part time position, there is a lot of opportunity to be flexible if certain temporary scheduling needs do come up. As a company, we do not work on major holidays.
If you do not expect to be in the office, please let your manager know well in advance that you plan to take time off.
